Dreams

Some years ago I was fortunate to meet a man who made me feel like I was the only woman in the world. I was completely swept off my feet, and I certainly didn't see it coming. His family owned the hotel I was staying in when I went on holiday with friends to the Greek Island of Skiathos. It was such a wonderful experience, and one I've never forgotten. After failed relationships, my self esteem was at an all time low and then I walked in to his life. He spoke to me about God but I just poo hoo'd it. As far as I was concerned, Jesus wasn't real and no one was ever going to convince me otherwise! We even had an argument about it. This is why my story starts at this time, and this is why I am going to start my poetry journal here. Like I said before, I couldn't express myself other than through putting it down on paper, so the first poem is when I met this lovely man. It was the most incredible holiday!

Dreams

Dreams are for at night

In the morning they fade away

Back to reality I go

Back in to the light of day.

I dream of what can happen

And what I want to be

My dreams are a lifetime away

Just another fantasy.

Then one day my eyes were open

The sun was shining, the sky was blue

One dream became a reality

Because suddenly there was you.

The clouds of my life were lifted

The sun came shining through

A new horizon was dawning

My dream had at last come true

To me you are an angel

Sent from up above

Who lifted out my sorrow

And showed me the path to love.

On that path we will meet again

Hand in hand together.

Body and soul will become one

Sharing each other forever.
